Nadi Pariksha is the Ayurvedic practice of examining pulse qualities as one part of a wider assessment. A trained physician may consider these qualities alongside the person’s history, symptoms, physical examination, and any appropriate investigations.

The pulse is usually examined at the radial artery at the wrist. In classical practice, the physician observes qualities such as rhythm, strength, and movement through an Ayurvedic framework that includes constitution, current imbalance, digestion, and daily function.

Pulse assessment should not be used to independently diagnose organ disease, predict every condition, or replace indicated medical tests. Its value lies in how it contributes to a broader, physician-led Ayurvedic consultation.

If symptoms are new, severe, rapidly worsening, or suggest an emergency, seek appropriate medical assessment rather than relying on pulse interpretation alone.
